EDUCATION SYSTEM IN VIETNAM AND INDONESIA


About Vietnam
Vietnam is the 14th most populous country in the world, 8th in Asia, and 3rd in Southeast Asia with a population of more than 93 million and still growing. Urban population is around 30 million and the rural population is around 60 million. About 40% of the population is between the ages of 10-25, which means the young and growing population will continue to demand increased access to higher education.
The official language used in Vietnam is Vietnamese, with English as a second language increasingly popular. It is widely accepted that fluency in English leads to a more prosperous career in Vietnam. According to the United Nations, the level of reading ability is 94% by 2013. Religion is never considered an important factor for economic development and education; However, Buddhism is the dominant religion throughout the country (Office of General Statistics Vietnam, 2015).





How‘s the education system in Vietnam?
In Vietnamese society, quality education tailored to Indonesian language to improve performance, which results in greater financial performance and stability. The structure of the Vietnamese education system is similar to the United States on average,
Vietnam spends 12 years in primary education, consisting of 5 years in elementary school, 4 years in high school, and 3 years in high school. For higher education studies, an associate's degree takes 3 years to complete, a bachelor's degree takes 4 years, and a master's degree takes 2 years. The completion of the PhD will take at least 3 years, but the average coffee time is 4-5 years. The academic calendar year operates from September to May.

University entrance tests are seen based on the scores obtained from national entrance exams, which are made by higher education institutions. Each institution has its own value limit for selecting students. Based on the statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, there are 1.4 million candidates registered for the university entrance examination in 2014, of which 1.2 million are registered to continue their education at the university, while another 258,000 are in diploma education. The current capacity to accept new students is around 600,000, where the number of universities is 234 while college diplomas are 185, this proves that there are more students than local higher education institutions.

There are 419 universities in Vietnam, of which 234 have variants of majors from senior and institutional levels, while 185 other higher education institutions include junior level and majors training centers. In addition, semi-public colleges and private universities are permitted to operate freely and provide entrance fees for their students.


How’s the education system in Indonesia?



Education in Indonesia is all education held in Indonesia, whether structured or unstructured. Structurally, education in Indonesia is the responsibility of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemdikbud), formerly the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia (Ministry of National Education). In Indonesia, all residents are required to take compulsory basic education for nine years, six years in primary / madrasah primary school and three years in junior high school / madrasah tsanawiyah. At present, education in Indonesia is regulated through Law Number 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System.
Education in Indonesia is divided into three main lines, namely formal, non-formal, and informal. Education is also divided into four levels, namely early childhood, elementary, middle and high.

1. Early childhood education programs
Referring to Law Number 20 of 2003, Article 1 Item 14 concerning the National Education System, Early Childhood Education (PAUD) is an effort to provide guidance for children from birth to six years of age through the provision of educational stimuli to help growth and physical and spiritual development so that the child has readiness to enter further education.

2. Basic education
Basic education is a level of early education for 9 (nine), namely elementary school (SD) for 6 years and junior high school (SMP) for 3 years. Basic education is a compulsory education program.

3. Middle education
Secondary education is a level of secondary education, namely Senior High School (SMA) for 3 years of travel time.

4. Higher education
Higher education is a level of education after secondary education which includes diploma, undergraduate, master, doctoral and specialist education programs organized by universities.
